Episode 1: “Cocaine”

A dealer makes a drop at a Hollywood red carpet event; a family hustles paste through a Peruvian forest; a US Customs stealth plane tracks an aircraft landing on a Guatemalan beach; a Border Patrol Agent makes his way through a tiny tunnel under the US-Mexican border as oxygen levels drop. At every step the price goes up, and the risks grow greater. Drugs Inc. reveals the international supply chain of a drug more valuable than gold: cocaine.

Episode 2: “Meth”

In Montana’s wilderness, man poses the greatest threat to drug smugglers crossing the Canadian/American border. Long winters, boredom and isolation, fuel addicts’ urgency for drugs.

Episode 3: “Heroin”

Follow this dangerous drug as it begins in a remote Afghan heroin lab and witness a police raid on a heroin distribution network. Heroin, also known as diamorphine, is an opioid analgesic synthesized by C.R Alder Wright in 1874 by adding two acetyl groups to the molecule morphine, a derivative of the opium poppy. When used in medicine it is typically used to treat severe pain, such as that resulting from a heart attack.

Episode 4: “Marijuana”

Cannabis is the most widely used illicit drug on the planet. To many, it’s an evil weed, but to some, it’s a sacred herb, even a lifesaver. For decades the global supply was controlled by criminals, but now a quasi-legal industry worth billions of dollars is booming. Visit growers who are leading a horticultural revolution, hear from users consuming for medicinal purposes, go inside the “Green Rush” of medical marijuana in cities across the U.S. and the violent marijuana cartels in Mexico.
